My Story with SCF!

In August of 2011 I decided to get off the couch and start joining some fun outdoor events. My first choice was this amazing Camping Trip to Kernville, CA. A group of us met up there for a 3day/2night adventure that included BBQ, hiking, swimming in the river, and a white water rafting day trip on the last day (which I did not attend because I didn’t feel physically ready). The weekend started just fine. On our first morning we went on a hike. As crazy as it sounds, it was extremely difficult for me to complete this hike. By the time we got to the top my face was red, I was exhausted, had scratches all over my legs, and one of my friends had to provide me with a travel cooling pad. Once we returned to camp I was completely “useless” and I thought we were going to take a nap, but to my surprise everyone wanted to go swimming in the river. I forced myself to make it over there and help bring our items, but as far a swimming goes, I was too tired. All I could do was just sit on a chair under the shade for the rest of the evening. The final day of our camping trip was the breaking point for me. I woke up extremely tired and sore and could not even stand for more than 5 minutes. We packed all of our camping gear slowly, since we had all day. My teenage son kept asking me to play Frisbee with him and I tried without any success. Once again, I realized weak I felt. I ended up laying a blanket near the river and taking a long nap in the hopes I would get enough energy to drive us back home. To summarize this trip made me realize how bad it was for me to sit on the couch for so long. I felt weak, completely out of shape and tired all of the time. Until I found SFC! That same week, tired and all, after coming back from the embarrassing camping trip, I scheduled my first class with Sandy: Tuesday night Zumba fitness at The Studio Loft. As if I haven’t had enough embarrassing moments already, on my first class I realized how out of shape I was in the dancing department as well. A wobble here, a wobble there is all I saw on the mirror! But since I had reached my breaking point I decided to stay committed (one of Sandy’s awesome phrases!: “Commit to be Fit”). My starting weight was 141lbs.

A few months passed and I am now planning a weekend trip with friends to La Quinta, CA in October of 2011. I am feeling great already after doing Zumba fitness with Sandy for only about a month and a half.

Then January 2012 rolls around the corner and I am starting to feel stronger! Just about ready to take on some new outdoor activities and find out how “in shape” I truly am. I am feeling great, so why not?

In May of 2011 we had a Cinco de Mayo Potluck Party. Some people at the party kept asking me how I stay in such great shape. So I pulled out Sandy’s card and some Zumba fitness videos and everyone started dancing! Zumba Fitness is like having a party in your pocket all of the time. I turn on the radio in the car while driving home or any other place and all I want to do is dance.

Now I am going on another camping trip that will not only include hiking, but white water rafting as well and I feel confident enough to know I will enjoy myself much more this time around. Bring it on!

SCF (Sandy Campy Fitness) has transformed my life. I not only feel great, but I also feel strong and energetic enough to keep up with work, life, friends and family. I am currently 121lbs, so that totals to 20lbs less than when I started. I feel fantastic!

Thank you Sandy for being so awesome!
You are the best!

Weekend Getaway at La Quinta!

Weekend of 10/07/2011 - 10/09/2011.

I am writing about our weekend experiece at the Luxury Villas in La Quinta, CA.  Believe it or not, with today's technology, it is possible to find a little piece of heaven on earth at a very reasonable price.  Life on the run can sometimes be stressful, so we need to find ways to relax our mind and let our worries stay on the back burner for a little while.  Trying to get away from our daily routine can be difficult, but with little effort it is possible to find a way out and step into something wonderful.

I have never been to this part of California before.  Palms Springs has always been it for me.  I am glad to have stepped out of the box on this one.  La Quinta has great night life, bars, live music, restaurants, etc. Everything runs at a lower pace, which is great considering how fast life can be in LA. Enjoy the outdoor patios.  Listen to live music while you sip on a drink and hear the water fountains in the background.  Go back to the smoke shop to enjoy some flavored cigars while you chat with your friends.  Sit by the Jacuzzi at night while having a cocktail, or simply have dinner at one of the many restaurants available in the area. Regardless of what you do in La Quinta, everything will be beautiful and peaceful.  Just what I needed!

Next time you need to get away, step into this beautiful piece of heaven on earth - La Quinta Resort & Villas.
